About Julia

Hello, I’m Julia.

I am a qualified counsellor, but first and foremost, I am a person who believes that every individual has a story worth hearing.

I believe therapy is not about one person having all the answers and the other being “fixed”.

It is a space where two people come together with curiosity, honesty and compassion, where your experiences can be explored without judgement.

A little about my journey

Life rarely follows a straight path.

My own journey has included change, uncertainty, stepping outside my comfort zone and creating a new life in another country.

Moving countries has taught me that starting again can bring excitement and opportunity, but it can also bring unexpected challenges around identity, belonging and finding your place in the world.

I understand what it feels like to navigate unfamiliar chapters and ask yourself:

“Who am I now?”

Over time, I have learned that becoming ourselves is not about returning to who we once were.

It is about honouring where we have been, recognising what we have learned, and allowing ourselves to grow into who we are becoming.

My approach

My role is to offer a safe, warm and curious space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.

Together, we can look at what has shaped you, what you are carrying, what you may have lost, and what you want to create moving forward.

I work from a person-centred and humanistic foundation, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to support you as an individual.

Because no two stories are the same.

You are not a problem to solve.

You are a person to understand.

Beyond the therapy room

I believe life is about more than simply getting through difficult moments.

It is also about rediscovering curiosity, connection, creativity and joy.

Outside of counselling, I love exploring new places, walking in nature, running, travelling and embracing adventures that remind us there is always more to discover.

I believe we are all continually becoming.

Sometimes we simply need the time, space and support to reconnect with ourselves, to laugh again, feel free again, and maybe even dance around the kitchen without worrying who is watching.

I help people navigate life’s changes, honour who they’ve been, and courageously become who they’re meant to be with compassion, curiosity and joy.

Professional experience

Choosing a counsellor is a personal decision.

Feeling a connection is important, but so is knowing that the person sitting alongside you has the knowledge, experience and professional standards to support you safely.

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their Ethical Framework to provide a safe, respectful and confidential space for every client.

My work has included supporting adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety and overwhelming worry

  • Depression and low mood

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • (PTSD)

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Loneliness and isolation

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Life transitions and identity

  • Alcohol and drug misuse

  • Family members affected by a loved one’s alcohol or drug use.

Throughout my career, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds, each bringing their own unique experiences, challenges and strengths.

My approach is always tailored to the individual because I believe no two people experience life in exactly the same way.

How I work

My foundation is person-centred counselling, where the relationship between counsellor and client is at the heart of the work.

Alongside this, I draw upon humanistic, existential, Gestalt, solution-focused and single-session approaches where appropriate, always adapting therapy to meet your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit a particular model.

Whether we work together for a few sessions or over a longer period, my aim is always the same:

To provide a compassionate, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where you feel heard, understood and supported as you move towards the life you want to create.

Online counselling

I offer online counselling, allowing you to access therapy wherever you are.

Many of my clients value the flexibility of meeting from the comfort of their own home, particularly if they are living abroad, balancing busy lives, travelling regularly or simply prefer the convenience of online sessions.

Being able to work online means I have the privilege of supporting people across different countries, cultures and life experiences, while offering the consistency of a trusted therapeutic relationship wherever life may take them.
